Spencer Hunter, participating as a member of the Patent Practice Group and the Copyright Practice Group, relies not only upon his formal legal training in intellectual property law, but also upon his 10+ years of experience working hands on in the high-tech manufacturing industry for Silicon Valley companies performing various engineering roles including Software, Test, Systems Integration, and finally serving as an ISO 9000 high-tech manufacturing compliance auditor.

Joining the Firm in 2006, Spencer's practice now focuses predominantly on the preparation and prosecution of complex software and communications related patent applications ranging from chip level firmware and microcode enhancements to cloud computing interfaces and communication mechanisms. Spencer maintains a practice with copyright related matters as well, especially in those areas related to the scope, extent, and limits of protection available to software based copyright claims and defenses, and assisting clients with understanding the inter-relatedness of patent protection versus copyright protection for their software related interests in the United States.

Outside of work, Spencer is an avid motorcyclist, "sidecarist," and a father to five adventurous children.
